But the the absurdity beneath the tragedy of the protesting and deaths is broader than just Willard.
Let us start with the film (and I'm stretching the definition) "The Innocence of Muslims", it appears that not only can we not figure out who was behind this project -- better named "The Protocols of the Elders of the Birth of a Nation" -- but it appears it was a fraud in every sense of the word.
A statement released on the behalf of the 80 cast and crew members ... indicates that they are not happy with the film and were misled by the producer. And then there is Senator Jon Kyle of Arizona, who demonstrated there is no subject that Republicans cannot bring back to their other favorite topic...rape.
"The entire cast and crew are extremely upset and feel taken advantage of by the producer. We are 100% not behind this film and were grossly misled about its intent and purpose," the statement says. "We are shocked by the drastic re-writes of the script and lies that were told to all involved. We are deeply saddened by the tragedies that have occurred."
I know mockery of #MoneyBooBoo and the rest of his compatriots eases some of the anger, but they still might win. Which will be the greatest tragi-comedy of them all.
